The combination of Art&Tech
Art and technology, two seemingly contradictory fields combined together, can create amazing projects. Today, technology is a new way to convey artistic designs and outlooks. In the fields of natural sciences, computer engineering, and other respective technology sectors, scientific creations are revolutionizing and reinforcing the way people precepting art. Early in the 17th century, famous minds like Leonardo da Vinci are already exploring new possibilities and start to think of new ways to express their artistic expressions.
In the project of cooking new materials. We certainly deploy different methods of scientific research in developing our material. One of the first objectives we were looking to accomplish is to improve the water-resistance capability of our material.
This is definitely not an easy task. First of all, the biomaterial is consisting of raw compositions that are highly hydrophilic. It means that the material tends to absorb water to remain its structural integrity. On top of that, we also have to investigate the surface structure of the material. Since the material has a rather smooth surface, it’s hard for the water-resistant coating to stay on the material. Through our research, we find out the best methods that we can apply to achieve water resistance for our material.
Furthermore, if the material would like to be processed like normal textiles. We will have to test further processing capabilities. If the material is not structural stable enough, it will not be able to apply in different application scenarios. we tested intensively the laser cutting and laser printing technology. High energy laser is able to be deployed and aid the designer in realizing their complex design.
No matter what do you think about art and tech, it’s a true fact that technology is giving new generation designers new possibilities and new inspirations. There are also different combinations of art and tech yet to be discovered, explored, and developed.
By always pushing the boundaries of the traditional fashion industry, we will see more and more designs with admirable concepts and mind-blowing technologies to offer.
Technology is changing our daily lives in every possible way. How we eat, live, travel is all heavily affected by the ever-evolving technology. It’s also inevitable that tech will give huge impacts on the artistic world. The combination of art and tech will make both of them flourish and better.
