‘How to apply?’ guideline

Are you taking the challenge of re-thinking fashion? Re-FREAM is looking for artists and designers to co-create innovative fashion concepts together with researchers using novel production technology. This guideline helps you navigate through the application process.

Evaluation criteria

After your submission, your project will be evaluated based on specific selection criteria and subjected to a two-phases selection procedure carried out by the Re-Fream consortium with the support of a group of external experts that consists of a panel jury of international experts.

Video recording guideline

Based on the evaluation criteria guideline, the video recording is the instrument to evaluate commitment, attitude, and motivation of the candidates.

Art/tech methodology

Over a nine-month period, these hybrid teams will embark on a co-research and co-creation journey guided by a specific art/tech collaboration methodology in which they will employ some of the most powerful technologies from some of the world’s most cutting-edge labs.

Important dates for application

  • 1st July – 30th September 2020: Application phase (extended to October 1, 3pm)
  • 1st – 22nd October 2020: Pre-selection phase
  • 27th October 2020: Announcement of shortlisted artists
  • 20th -27th October: The best 6 proposals per Hub will be asked for an online interview. Save 30 minutes during this days
  • 28th October -15th November: Final jury sessions
  • 16th November 2020: Announcement of 2nd call winners
  • January 2021: Welcome gathering (tba)

Art/Tech collaboration schedule

By applying to our programme, you commit to the Re-FREAM conditions and a nine-month collaborative Art/Tech Collaboration process, partly in-person and partly online.

The duration of collaboration project time is 9 months. Within this time you as an artist must be present in their respective co-creation space and thus spend a minimum of 30% of the project time in residency (meaning at the location of the co-creation space).

The residency time will be distributed according to the Art/Tech methodology and timeline.
